Privacy policy

What PaperDive stores
PaperDive stores your account email, uploaded PDFs, extracted paper text, detected sections, summaries, chat history, annotations, and saved explanation data needed to provide the service. Your library is associated with your account.
How uploaded papers are processed
PDFs and application data are stored using Supabase. Extracted text and selected passages may be sent to Google Gemini or OpenAI to generate summaries, chat answers, diagrams, and explanations. Concept media searches may query Wikimedia Commons and YouTube using the concept text. Do not upload material you are not permitted to process through these services.
Access and sharing
Paper libraries are private to the signed-in account under database access policies. PaperDive does not sell personal information. Data is shared with infrastructure and AI providers only as needed to operate requested features.
Retention and deletion
Deleting a paper removes its stored PDF and associated PaperDive records. Deleting your account removes your account-owned papers and application records. Provider logs and backups may be retained for limited periods under each provider's policies.
Sensitive information
PaperDive is an educational beta and is not designed for protected health information, confidential patient records, regulated clinical data, or secrets that cannot be processed by third-party cloud and AI services.
